Nigeria U-23 Captain Azubuike Wins CAF Most Valuable Player

Dream Team captain, Azubuike Okechukwu has been selected as the most valuable player for the just concluded Confederation of African Football (CAF) U-23 football championship in Dakar, Senegal on Saturday, December 12.

The 18-year-old midfielder who plies his trade for Turkish side Yeni Malatyaspor was picked ahead of team mate Etebo Oghenekaro of Warri Wolves who clinched the top scorer award with five goals.

South Africa won the fair play award for the competition.

Nigeria won the football competition on Saturday, December 12 after defeating Algeria 2 – 1. The team has also qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics
