The state Governor, Rochas Okorocha, announced this while receiving members of the Nigerian Guild of Editors who paid him a courtesy call at the Government House, Owerri, recently.

He also debunked rumours that his government borrowed a whopping N200 billion from the bank to finance capital projects. The governor rather attributed his accomplishments in the past three years to a self-resolution to move the state forwards through selfless service, effective judicious utilization of available resources, which he said, had given birth to dramatic changes in the industrial and educational sector.

He disclosed that the Ada Palm Nig Limited, Ohaji, which had now metamorphosed into the Imo Palm Plantation had been revived and resuscitated, netting in N3,2 bilion monthly into the government coffers while the Standard Shoe Industry had since bounced back to business, producing shoes for pupils and students. Okorocha, who enumerated some of his achievements to include free education programmes, construction of the Heroes squares, Ikemba Ojukwu Convention Centre, office of the Deputy Governor and that of the wife of the governor, Sam Mbakwe executive chambers, general hospitals in each of the 27 councils of the state school, roads, introduction of new ethics and civil service dress codes, regular payment of salary and pension for both teachers, and civil servants, said in all he had completed over 1000 projects in the state.
