Obinna Durumchukwu, a 34-year-old Nigerian was stabbed to death by his friend in India.

According to reports, Obinna was murdered by his roommate, at their Nalasopara home on Sunday, March 6.

Times of India reports that the victim celebrated his 34th birthday on Saturday, March 5, with he and his room mate partying at their Agarwal Nagri home in Nalasopara. The party went on till 9am on Sunday, March 7 as both drank to stupor.

Shortly after, they got into a fight and hurled empty glass bottles on each other. Seconds after, the roommate picked up one such glass piece lying on the floor and stabbed Obinna in his neck. He died on the spot.

Neighbours who heard the screams alerted the police and Obinna’s roommate, whose name is given as Michael Chukwuma, was arrested.

Police said the fight was stirred by a dispute over who is greater between Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. They added that Obinna’s passport had expired on January 24, 2016, and he was staying illegally.
