Biafra: DSS Arrests And Releases Victor Umeh After Alleged Role In Protest
Chief Victor Umeh, the former national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) who is the party’s senatorial candidate in the court-ordered re-run election in Anambra Central zone, was  arrested by operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) yesterday, March 3.
Stan Okeke, Umeh’s media aide, confirmed the arrest of his boss in Enugu and was taken to Abuja by road.

He said: “Officials of the DSS arrested Umeh at his residence following a petition by political leaders from Anambra state allegedly led by former governor of the state, Dr. Peter Obi that he is sponsoring the activities of the IPOB and MASSOB.
“Contrary to reports, Umeh was not handcuffed and was not flown to Abuja. They travelled by road and as I speak with you.”
But barely 24 hours after, Umeh was released by the DSS amid celebration. Chief Jerry Obasi, the APGA’s deputy secretary, confirmed his release.
