The quiet town of Enyibichiri Alike in Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi State was agog recently when one of its proud sons, Hon. Ambassador Lawrence Nwuruku donated a magnificent civic centre aside awarding scholarship to scores of indigenes.

Several residents of the community trooped out en masse to witness what an excited indigene, Alex Ozone described as one of the biggest event in the annals of the agrarian community in recent times.

The Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Bar. Kelechi Eric Igwe alongside his wife, Chief (Mrs) Nnena Igwe led dignitaries to the unveiling ceremony of the structure.

Other personalities at the occasion include Hon. Engr. Nwuruku Humphery Alieze representing Ikwo North Constituency as well as representatives of top politicians from the state such as Senators, Lawmakers and Local Government Chairmen among others.

The climax of the four day ceremony was the conferment of the chieftaincy title of Enyioha I meaning friend of the people on Chief Nwuruku who is a National Commissioner with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

While cutting the ribbon for the unveiling of the edifice, the Deputy Governor, Bar. Igwe commended Ambassador Nwuruku and urged other Nigerians to emulate his kind gesture to the community that made him who he is today.

According to Mr. Alex Ozone, this is not the first time that the people of Enyibichiri Alike will be witnessing the good gesture of their proud son. Also speaking, High Chief Ekechi Nwode conveyed the gratitude of the entire community to Chief Nwuruku while urging others to emulate him.

Amb. Nwuruku who was flanked by his wife Chief (Mrs) Anthonia Nwuruku noted that his gesture is hinged on the popular saying that says that a stream that forgets his source would run dry.
