The ongoing protests in some parts of Igboland for a state of Biafra could best be described as the activity of pranksters who are not true to themselves.
Upon a closer look at how we Igbos stand in the scheme of things in Nigeria, one can clearly see that we currently control Nigeria’s business climate even though we do not hold the reins on the political powers of the nation.
I boldly say so because any Igbo man or woman, with good common sense, who is able to objectively discern the current socio-economic developmental events of Nigeria today will realize the fact that we Igbos are not only visible and influential in all the socio-economic sphere of the country, but are just too good leaders in firm control of the entire business climates of Nigeria particularly Lagos, the nation’s business nerve center
We Igbos are all over Nigeria as visible game masters dealing in common house hold daily needs as we are deeply involved in marketing electronics, shoes, clothing, food, furniture, the almighty oil, communication technology and services, hotel and hospital management, automobile business management, transportation in air, roads and seas management; music industry, and Nollywood, the entertainment industry, print and publishing industry and motor spare parts suppliers just to mention a few.
We the Igbo people, if real facts must be faced are just too good business gurus without set boundary limitation and it is to our credit that for now, there appears nothing we cannot do in Nigeria unless that of turning man to woman and or walking on the sea.
It is therefore bewildering to find some youthful pranksters among our people mimicking the last ode of Biafra, which was dead and buried since 1970.
Late legendary Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu the great and colourful Igbo warlord who attempted seceding Igboland as a separate nation out of Nigeria (between 1967-1970) sooner than expected like a great leader retraced his way back, to end up an hero the type found only among the truly greats of the world.
Also his widow, our very own (Bianca Ojukwu) at a time not too long ago to be soon forgotten meritoriously served Nigeria as an highly respected Nigerian Ambassador to Spain.

It therefore brings to fore the need to ask the salient question the wise would be tempted to ask – which is;
“Why are some rabble rouser youths among our people, who knew nothing about the hell on earth, some of the elderly now in age group 60 and above went through between 1967-1970 like hiding in damn hot caves and holes during the Nigeria- Biafra war, will just like prophet Ezekiel in the Holy Bible, like to see lives given back to dry bones when our people currently have more than enough problems than we can conveniently cope with?”
I commend the intervention of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo comprised of highly respected Igbo elders as the Presidents of the apex Igbo-cultural organization in the world in the seven Igbo speaking states in Nigeria distanced themselves from the activities of dead Biafran State agitating pranksters. This is enough a signal that the protesters are on their own rampaging to self destruction.
Although agitation by humans who have a strong case to make and prove or, who are serving noble causes and particularly human rights causes should be supported but such noble protests cannot be compared to anything worth touching by those now engineering the Biafran protest as they are attempting to uselessly put flesh on dry bones that will at any rate end up in greater loss for the protesters.
