Igbo Man Of The Year Award Holds November

TO showcase the talent of an Igbo man while also spurring him to think of home and develop his state, a magazine, Eastern Eye, established to be the voice of the easterners, has instituted an award for the Outstanding Igbo Man of the Year.

Termed “The Eastern Man of the Year” (EMY) award, the recognition, which is instituted to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the magazine, according to the Chairman, Organising Committee, Eastern Eye Fifth Anniversary Summit and Award, Nwaada Ngozika Obie, is designed to bring together Igbo people around the country, recognize and appreciate those who have distinguished themselves in their respective endeavours.

She noted that the award, which would hold on November 7, 2015, would cut across six categories, which include leadership, sports, transportation, commerce and industry and the youths.

In her words: “We want to bring together all Igbos and recognize them and appreciate their successes in their different professions. Because the magazine is a medium that projects the cause of an Igbo man and the region in general, we want to showcase what our sons and daughters have done that has brought pride to the region and appreciate them.”
