Popular Blogger Uche Pedro Nominated For Nickelodeon Award

Uche Pedro, the popular Nigerian blogger and founder of BellaNaija was on Wednesday, February 3, nominated for the 2016, Nickelodeon Award.

Her media website BellaNaija was nominated among other African bloggers such as Theodora Lee (South Africa), Aisha Baker (South Africa) and Sylvia Kamau (Kenya).

NAN reports that BellaNaija was nominated by the American basic cable and satellite television network under the new category ‘Favourite Blogger (Africa). Nickelodeon is popularly known to showcase programs suitable for children, family, friends and much more and owned by MTV.

Founded in 2006, BellaNaija has bagged several awards including the Outstanding Contribution to Fashion Communication Award in 2010 and in 2011, won the Best Event Coverage Online Award.


Prior to the creating of her website BellaNaija, Uche worked for Shell Canada, Cadbury Middle East & Africa Unit in the UK, and Cadbury in Nigeria. Uche is a Fellow of TEDAfrica and a Nigeria Leadership Initiative associate. In July 2006, she founded BellaNaija and served as the managing director and Founding Editor before she went on to establish Bainstone Limited in 2009

On June 21 2014, Uche got married to Bode Pedro, a son of former Deputy Governor of Lagos state, Femi Pedro. She is also a mother after she delivered a set of twins on April 9 2015.
