Dr. Chike Obidigbo, the leader of Anyiagaba Political & Grassroots Association (APGA), has said that politics is not as dirty as people assume.

According to him, dirty people that have cornered our politics and are greedily appropriating all the political benefits and privileges, including our commonwealth for themselves and their cronies, to the exclusion of the general public.

Dr Obidigbo made this known in a thank you message to his supporters.

The APGA factional gubernatorial candidate in Anambra state, believed that despite the Supreme Court Judgment that God in His infinite Mercy will still provide another tested and trusted opportunity to serve and save the state, igboland and indeed Nigeria.

The message reads: “I consider now the most appropriate time to say a big thank you for your support and assistance all through my brief but very eventful sojourn into the murkey waters of Nigeria’s political terrain.

“During this short period I was able to gather very interesting, exciting and useful experience that will shape my future relationships & activities. No knowledge is a waste. And every knowledge has its price.

“During my rather very intensive struggle I realised that politics is not as dirty as people assume after all rather its dirty people that have cornered our politics & are happily and greedily appropriating all the political benefits and privileges, including our commonwealth for themselves and their cronies, to the exclusion of the general public”.

Dr. Obidigbo regretted that in the last 50years the economy of the Igbo nation has been on a steady decline, which many factors responsible. This he said including but not limited to, “evil imposition of poor quality and insensitive leadership from within and outside Igbo land, sustained by our collective indifference and our inability to raise alarm and objections; corruption with impunity on a very massive scale, with no checks and internal control mechanism; external (official) backing for the decimation of our economy and a surreptitiously planned diversion of Igbo energy & resources away from Igbo land.

“What we have now is a decadent and dependent economy. A run down ranch. We can no longer provide jobs that will sustain our youths and guarantee meaningful future for them within the Igbo enclave. Our economy can no longer put quality bread on the tables of most families.

“When I accepted to run for the governorship of Anambra state my primary motive was to do whatever that was necessary and to spare no effort or cost to set our youths on the right course for self rediscovery and self actualisation, and to prepare them to assume their role as the leaders of our tomorrow.”

Stressing that this is what the Igbo nation, especially our youth’s need now more than ever, Obidigbo expressed optimism that though opportunity may have been lost now but “with our combined prayers, efforts, sincerity and clear head, especially of our suffering youths, God in His infinite mercy will still provide another tested & trusted opportunity through some other sources”.

He thanked his supporters for the confidence they showed during the trial time, noted that if not for the desperate and evil conspiracy of agents of darkness “we would’ve made it and we would have given Anambra state deserved quality and honest leadership”.
