Tell us more about you.

I’m a TV presenter, voice-over artiste, a writer, a singer, an MC, newscaster – you can go on. I’m just so many things rolled into one. Let me just say I’m an all-encompassing broadcaster. I’m that sultry familiar voice you hear on Hiptv.

Your work job description sounds tasking. How do you maintain balance?

I’m very loyal to my job and what drives me is the passion I have for the profession. I like to play around things and I have always had this love for singing. As for writing, there is no how one can do broadcasting without writing so everything is intertwined.

How long have you been a broadcaster?

Well, I started my broadcasting profession in 2007, with revered broadcaster, Bisi Olatilo. I learnt the nitty-gritty of the profession, then did radio shows with different stations and platforms, like Radio continental, City FM before I settled with HipTv, where I work right now.

So far, which of the media houses was the biggest for you in terms of career development?

Bisi Olatilo was the starting point of my career so I ll never dismiss that it played a big role in making me the broadcaster I am today.

How do you manage to combine working there and making your music?

If you look at everything I do, you will see they are somehow related and intertwined. One moment you are on the red carpet, the next you are performing on stage; they revolve around each other. It’s just demanding being at so many places at a time. I love what I do and I always find a way out.

What’s your biggest song so far?

So far, my biggest song yet is Somara. I went out of the box, out of my comfort zone, to do what a lot of people don’t expect. I tried to be different and appeal to the larger audience and it came out pretty well. I was shocked myself, especially when Fliptyce first heard the chorus, he was very impressed and surprised that such effort was coming from a presenter and Oritsefemi jumped on it and made it huge.

So what are you working on presently?

I’m working on a couple of singles with collaborations which I will not like to reveal. There is a lot in the pipeline but I consider my work schedules too so I can put out materials every week like every other artists. But I won’t relent on the music career, people appreciate and love the fact that, I combine music with the things I do.

When should we expect an album?

Based on my experience on the job, you don’t just put out an album; you have to consider the crowd. You have to see if they are ready to accept an album from you because its not really about you. So, if the crowd is ready for an album you give it to them.

Where do you see yourself in few years to come?

I want to establish a brand big enough to absorb a lot of people and up coming acts, people that have been underestimated, give them hope. Look at me now; having lost my parents, I had to struggle all alone to get to where I am today. I don’t just want to win awards, become so rich and all, I want to help people come up the ladder of life.

Are you in a relationship?

It depends on how you classify relationship. For me, I don’t think I’ll say I am or I’m not. I will just say I’m in relationship but committed to my music. I’m in relationship with my music but I’m not single. I just wanna keep that part of my life private for now.
