harrysongOnce upon a time, singer and songwriter, Harrison Tare Okiri a.k.a Harrysong, was a regular guy and an aspiring musician. He had a dream, and strongly held onto it with faith. Everything was fine as Harrysong kept pushing harder day by day to succeed in the Nigerian music industry.

So, one day, Harrysong teamed up with Kcee’s Five Star record label, and composed Kcee’s Limpopo hit track. Because of the success of that song, Harrysong found a new lease of life. He also recorded “Mandela,” the track which is a Tribute to the late South African leader, Nelson Mandela,  released on December 11, 2013 which received a stunning one million downloads in a single day. It is also said to have become the most downloaded caller tune in Nigeria and Africa. Harrysong towards the end of 2014, pampered himself with a 2009 Hummer SUV, with a customised plate number, Mr Songz.

Because the Delta State-born musician is currently enjoying the goodies that have been coming his way as the rewards of his hard work and consistency in the music industry, many critics have begun to say Harrysong is this or that now.

And because of that, Harrysong has replied his critics by saying nothing has changed about him since he tasted fame, and does NOT in, any way, see his personality changing many years from now.

I have been hearing people saying I am this or that now, but I want to tell you that it is not true. I have not changed my number. I still pick my calls myself; I am as humble as anything you can call it. I am rich but not arrogant,” he said.

Harrysong now charges about N1.5m to write a song for other musicians, and has indeed written songs for a lot of them in Nigeria and overseas. He’ll continue being himself and doing what he exactly wants to do with his life, which is MUSIC. Until finally, he becomes develops to become one of the richest but humble musicians from Africa.
