A Pan Igbo Organisation called Igbo World Union, has sent a warning to the Northern Islamist terrorist sect, Boko Haram to keep Off Igbo land, spokesperson of the group condemned the recent bombing attempts in the Owerri, and the literal invasion of Aba Abia State.

He castigated Northern leaders for reading other meanings into the arrests, saying it made the matter more suspicious. “It is unfortunate that some Northern leaders are imputing other meanings to the arrest of the suspects. One would have expected them to be more circumspect in their reaction, especially considering the revelation that one of the suspects is a lynchpin of the dreaded sect, instead of trying to impede security agents from carrying out their lawful duties,” Chibueze said.

He added that the entire Southern Nigeria and Igbo land in particular, would resist any attempt to export the carnage in the North to their area, warning that  “Nigeria may be heading for the long predicted disintegration if activities of the sect are not curtailed or confined in the North until it is finally nipped. This time around, it is most unthinkable to imagine that Ndigbo would tolerate yet another genocide against its people on our own soil unchallenged.”

However, it charged the Federal Government to be more proactive in handling the Boko Haram crisis, which is getting out of hand.

The union also expressed sorrow over the death of Prof. Dora Akunyili, former Director-General of National Agency for Food and  Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and erstwhile minister of information. It described Akunyili as a worthy daughter of Ndigbo and a rare breed, with unmatched courage and patriotism.
