Gov. Willie Obiano Kicks Off 3 Over Head Bridges In Awka

The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has kicked off the construction of three fly over bridges in the Awka axis of the Enugu-Onitsha expressway.

The projects were awarded at the cost of 5billion naira with a completion period of one year to be constructed at Amawbia Junction, Kwata Junction and Aroma Junction.

He also performed the ground breaking ceremony for the three arms zone at Greenwood Layout, Isiagu, in the capital territory where the new government house, legislative headquarters and judiciary headquarters among other administrative blocks would be built.

The first road interchange and fly over bridge is located at Amawbia Junction in the capital territory along the Enugu-Onitsha expressway.

The second road interchange and fly over bridge is at Kwata Junction and the Governor urged the people to give the contractors all the necessary support and cooperation to complete the project on record time.

The Governor said that the project was part of the plan to transform Awka into a modern and befitting capital territory such that when the new Awka capital territory master plan is fully implemented, the city would be a reference point in the country and in the world.

The Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area commended the effort of the Governor in his resolve to raise the standard of Awka Capital Territory and he gave assurance of their unflinching support to the present administration and its developmental blueprint.

All the projects flagged off were, according to the Governor, part of his resolve to transform Awka, as well as establish a new face of a functional government in Anambra State.
