The Super Eagles 2013 African Cup of Nations hero has revealed that he has moved on from the agony of not making Stephen Keshi’s final cut to the 2014 Fifa World Cup

Nigeria international Sunday Mba has disclosed he has no negative thoughts following his exclusion from the just concluded 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.

The CA Bastia midfielder who had an impressive outing for his French League 2 outfit last season could not make Stephen Keshi’s 23-man squad which could have been as a result of his late arrival to pre-tournament camp.

According to him, he has put behind him the disheartening episode to face future challenges.

“I will be lying if I say I was not disappointed (not to be selected) but as a professional, you know these things happen,” Mba told Supersport.

“I have no negative thoughts as I always respect the decision of my coaches and I knew the country is blessed with so many good players. It was impossible for everyone to go (to Brazil).”

The former Enugu Rangers star also revealed that he was in constant touch with the players in Brazil encouraging them before every game.

“I was always trying to encourage the boys with supportive messages ahead of every game because the country is more important than any individual.

“We did well against France and only hard luck prevented us from reaching the quarterfinals,” he concluded.
