The governor spoke even as former Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Chief Kelechi Nwagwu, decried the gradual spread of insurgency in the country.
Governor Okorocha read the riot act yesterday, when he played host to members of Imo State Chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in the Government House, Owerri.
He said: “The perpetrators of the botched heinous act should retrace their steps now and in their own interest. They must realise Igbo know how to defend themselves when the need arises.”
While charging the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo to ask themselves when an Igbo man will become the president of Nigeria, the governor also urged Nigerians to show interest in what someone can do in a particular position and not where he comes from.
