SNARP Builds Home For Six Widows In Mbaitoli LGA Of Imo State

Six widows in Imo State, Nigeria, including a mentally derailed woman from Mbaitoli local government of the state, have received the brand new homes built and furnished for them by the first lady of Imo state , Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha under her “She Needs A Roof Project” (SNARP) Commissioning the homes in the six different communities where they were built for the indigent widows, Imo First Lady, decried the increased rate of mental disorders among Nigeriaans which she attributed to extreme poverty and suffering. According to the Governor’s wife, a person’s condition affects his emotional or mental health and could give rise to instability hence she called on all well-to-do individuals to change their attitude towards earthly possessions, stressing that priority should not be placed on political party membership but on the welfare of the people. In his remarks, the Deputy Governor of the State who is a distinguished son of Mbaitoli, Prince Eze Madumere noted the non political nature of SNARP pointing out that it was an initiative borne out of Mrs Okorocha’s largesse with the aim to alleviate the sufferings of the indigent widows. He called on the people of Mbaitoli to rally round Gov. Okorocha and his wife maintaining that there is no alternative to All Progressives Congress (APC) for Imo State. Speaking, the chairman, Imo State Council of traditional Rulers, is royal Highness, Eze Samuel Agunwa Ohiri lauded the people oriented programme of the Okorocha’s administration and solicited total support for the Governor. In their separate remarks, Dr. Pat. Nna Transition Committee Chairman of Mbaitoli LGA, Nze Calistus Ekenze, the head of service, Chief Chris Nwike, the S.A political to deputy Governor and Mrs Ngozi Victor Ndunagu wife of the member representing Mbaitoli in the IMHA, appreciated the selfless and humanitarian nature of SNARP, pledging total support for her. The six beneficiaries included, Mrs Felicia Emmanuel Opara a mentally challenged widow from Okwu, Ogbaku, Mrs Pauline Nwaerwe Onwuzuruike from Umuduruforo, Ezioma Obiato, Mrs Pricilla Alamezie from Ifakala, Mrs Oluchi Olumba from Amaukwu Orodo, Mrs Rose Onyemaogari Rose Nachi from Obinukwu, Achi Mbieri and late Mrs Ole Chibundu’s children from Umudagu Mbieri all in Mbaitoli Local Government Area.
