Warri Wolves have announced the return of injured midfielder Ikechukwu Ibenegbu and his availability for the Week 13  game of Nigeria Premier League clash with Lobi Stars in Katsina Ala on Wednesday.

Ibenegbu who is fondly called ‘Mosquito’, is back after spending eight weeks on the sidelines owing to injury sustained in Bizerte, Tunisia against CA Bizertin in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Super Sand Eagles star, who teamed up with the Seasiders from Heartland at the start of the season, if selected for the Lobi Stars duel will feature for the first time in the domestic league.

Speaking before the team traveled to Katsina Ala on Monday, Ibenegbu a member of the national beach soccer team expressed his joy that he is back playing to help his team.

“I am happy to be back to play in the league. Football is what I know and to be on the side line nursing injury is something one cannot stand but I thank God that I am back to help my team,” club’s media officer, Moses Etu qouted him as saying.

Ibenegbu while commending his teammates for superlative performance displayed so far which have shot them into the fourth place on the log, still expect the team can do better.

“I am happy that they were able to get where they are in the league. They have done well and I know we can still do more. If the Coach picks me, I will do my best to lift the team.” Ibenegbu said.
