Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has declared his support for the Enugu North Senatorial zone to produce the next governor of Enugu State in the spirit of justice, equity and fairness.

Ekweremadu at the weekend for the umpteenth time denied nursing any governorship ambition in 2015, but rather pledged to work with the people of the area to realize their aspiration in 2015.

The deputy Senate President spoke during a cultural night organised by the people of Nsukka zone under the auspices of Nsukka Zonal Forum in honour of the lawmaker at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN).

There were hitherto speculations that he was making subterranean moves to clinch the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship ticket in 2015 despite a unanimous agreement by the people of the state to cede to the people of Enugu North Senatorial Zone ( Nsukka cultural zone) in the spirit of an unwritten agreement by the people of the state to rotate the governorship seat among the three senatorial zones.

All the political big wigs in the state, including the state Governor, Sullivan Chime, the former Senate president, Ken Nnamani, and elder statesman, Chief Jim Nwobodo, have all endorsed has that the governor of the state should be produced from Nsukka Zone come 2015.

Until his weekend affirmation, Ekweremadu was seen to be dodgy about his position on the matter.
