Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has advised Igbo natives living outside Igboland, particularly the Northern part of Nigeria, to be extra-vigilant in their environments.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo, which stated this yesterday through its Secretary General, Dr Joe Nwaorgu, said this has become imperative because of the recent bombings in Sabon Gari in Kano State and Jos in Plateau State.

“We have had cause in the past to condemn the continuous bombing of targets, aimed at Nigeria with heavy Igbo doses. The bombing in Sabon Gari, Kano, which is the epicenter of Igbo settlement and that of Jos in a market, which we think was targeted at Igbo population, give us a new thinking on the objectives of these criminals posing as Muslim zealots,” Ohanaeze said.

The Igbo group stated, that it was disgusted that people could kill others en masse in the name of their “god.”

“We welcome the international intervention and request that they put in everything to help exterminate this growing cancer in Nigeria’s body polity. Igbo are enjoined to be extra-vigilant in their environments.

“We condole with the families of those murdered in the evil attacks. We also wish those injured a speedy recovery, as well as support the armed forces fully in their attempts to quell this insurgency,” the body said.
